Bitkiwi XVI, July 25th, 2026, Auckland
Our next edition of Bitkiwi will take place at 1pm on July 25th, at the Birdcage, in Freemans Bay, Auckland.
We’ve got Darcy Ungaro set up to host an awesome speaking panel.
Darcy is the host of the popular podcast Everyday Investor, which has had many prominent Bitcoin guests on from around the world. He is also a Financial Adviser for Radical Investment.
The speaking panel will consist of;
Kevin Whitmore
Kevin is the Chair of Bitcoin Policy NZ. He's been involved in the Bitcoin space for over ten years and fintech more broadly for the last 25 years. He is the Founder of Cashbucket, a cash management platform and Rolliq, an AI and automation business. He was previously assisting businesses with commercialisation at Callaghan Innovation.
James Viggiano
Founder of Unspent Capital, James is a prominent New Zealand Bitcoin advocate, educator, and entrepreneur based in Auckland.
He is a frequent podcast guest and speaker and has been actively involved in local initiatives and projects exploring Bitcoin-powered banking and circular economies. Known for his thoughtful, long-term perspective on sound money and self-custody, he is a key voice in the growing Kiwi Bitcoin community.
Francisco Colombo
Francisco is a former lawyer and co-founder of Bitcoin Journey, a project dedicated to both Bitcoin education and curated travel experiences for Bitcoiners visiting New Zealand. As a Bitcoin educator, he helps grow the Bitcoin Basin circular economy in Queenstown by teaching individuals and businesses about self-custody and practical Bitcoin adoption. Francisco will also be sharing insights and updates about what promises to be one of New Zealand’s greatest Bitcoin conferences: the Sovereignty Summit.
You will also be able to buy drinks using Bitcoin on the lightning network, come try it out! And the guys from the Bitcoin Shop will be there with a bunch of cool Bitcoin stuff too!
The event will be free entry as always, all are welcome - old hands, new coiners, and everyone in between. Bring a mate who’s been asking questions about Bitcoin!
No RSVP is required, just show up! The turnout has been steadily growing for our events, and last time out in Auckland we had a huge crowd.
The panel will also take questions from the audience, so bring your curiosity along. Of course there will be plenty of time to mingle and chat with other Bitcoiners as well, and no doubt there will be the usual post-event hangs.
